My sons went to a Jesuit high school that was all boys. They had to import their cheerleaders from the Catholic girl's high school next door. That struck me as odd, for both the cheerleaders and those being led, although I am sure neither complained, as it was better than the alternative of no girl cheerleaders.
I went to an all girls Catholic High School and we didn't have any cheerleaders. Not that I saw anyway. Unless a few of the Nuns had part time jobs. Strange visual. MB
Regarding Slough versus Bayou--I think they may be the same. To me a slough is an off shoot of a river to take care of overflow. Sometimes manmade and sometimes natural. There are many small sloughs criss-crossing the Skagit and Stillaguamish valley some with water and even one called Dry Slough--because it is. The Dictionary says a slough is a muddy or swampy place but Hatt Slough is not that. The small one crossing farm land are use for irrigation much like an irrigation channel. May be one and the same. I'll stop now. Bye. MB
As far as I'm concerned, you could do away with the players altogether and just fill the place with cheerleaders. What, you think I go to football games to watch the quarterback?
I wonder what the future holds for them.

ReplyDeleteHaving been on both sides of that great divide, I'll tell you it's much better being the one with the pom-poms.

A very nice picture, I'm quite sorry we didn't have cheerleaders when I was at school...
ReplyDeleteI think that's a lot of cheerleaders, too! When I was in high school, I think there were only 8 or so.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly look cheery!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a grand-daughter in that shot or do you just like high school basketball?
ReplyDeleteThat is a big bunch of cheerleaders!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, I wanted to be one!

ReplyDeleteWow! I guess they couldn't decide which ones to choose so they chose them all. I've never seen so man all in one place.
