Until I learned about your blog this is pretty much what I thought Florida was all about (except for a few places like Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Cape Canaveral of course). In many ways I hate seeing the new take over the old but that is happening big time in the Toronto area too.
I wonder what the story is with that place. I can read a realtor's description now: "Cozy fixer upper in a pastoral setting with Florida friendly vegetation".
I wonder how long it's been sitting empty. Between 1992 and 2002, I worked consulting on long term projects and I would be away from my home weeks at a time. Even though my house was a condo with common walls on both sides, being empty so much took a toll on it too. When I'd come home for a few days, I'd find things that needed to be fixed. It was a good thing my parents were around at the time so they could spend time there during the week letting in the various repairmen.
Was it a ranch there in Fl? Wonder why they hit the road?! Wonder how they could afford to hit the road... I always think about that when I see an abandoned place! =)

ReplyDeleteI always wonder about the story of these places...this looks built low to the ground but doesn't look all that old to me....not like some anyway.
