About the Black Canyon Highway, the paved road that you remember was the precursor to Interstate 17, which is still called the Black Canyon Freeway. The road in my picture that goes through Old Cordes was before that. At that time the only paved road from Prescott to Phoenix was state route 89 through Yarnell. Olden days.
A pretty scene, Jacob. I kind of miss the palmettos.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good thing that there is no graffiti on this railroad bridge, like there are on so many others in some places.
ReplyDeleteA pretty shot. I said 'Twain Twestle' when I first read the title. MB
ReplyDeleteExcept for the palm leaves, this bridge could be here.
ReplyDeleteDid you send those 90°+ temperatures to Ontario? Tomorrow it's supposed to be close to 100°!
We have a similar one here too, but I can't seem to get close enough to it to get a good picture without getting run over.
ReplyDeleteThe midst of town? Really?
ReplyDeleteIt makes a nice picture. Good to see you back!

These old trestles remain very picturesque in areas like this.
