A Pickup Swamp Buggy

On the left is a pickup truck with tires that are larger than an average automotive sedan. It is probably a good vehicle for wandering about in Florida's swamps or in woods where the sands are deep. Looks rather strange, though.

    We have alot of those here too. Probably used for the desert here. Hey we have Centurylink too.

    I see that LaPrincipessa beat me to it, but the big tires are great for driving in soggy bottoms areas.

    I saw one of these tall guys in Seattle. The driver had a sign in his front window up high as to not obstruct his vision that said "MOVE!" backwards, so if you're looking through your rear-view mirror and see that big guy, you'd better.

    Those things should be kept off public highways, they are impossible to see around if one is alongside you at junctions, or is parked beside you in a car park. Dangerous!

    The thing is, I bet they don't drive around in the swamps. I find most people who have those jacked up trucks just like the way they look. :S

    While these jacked up pickup trucks can be used off road, they are mostly for style. These are often called "Monster Trucks." There is a nationwide circuit of monster truck exhibition and racing.     My daughter Jolene has a huge Dodge Ram with oversized tires that I finally have learned how to haul myself into. Whew!!! The top of my head comes to the door handle. Don't ask why she loves that truck. Funny thing is all my girls have trucks. Horse girls I guess. MB
