A few years ago, Gateway Bank bought property from a Baptist Church on Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala and proceeded to construct a striking "new" old-fashioned bank on the site.
It is, in my opinion, what a bank should look like, and the people at Gateway are a delight - ready, willing and able to assist you with your financial needs.
Gateway also has offices in Gainesville and Alachua.

She's a grand building.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the hometown bank!
ReplyDeletewhat a delightful idea. i'd gladly bank there.
ReplyDeleteelle est tres belle et j'aime beaucoup les Rocking chairs devant la banque ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous place. They could look after my money... if I had any!
ReplyDeleteWhen I took that architectural tour of Toronto a few weeks ago, our guide explained something about banks to us. In the old, old days people didn't like to use banks. They didn't think they were safe and so preferred to keep their cash in a coffee can or whatnot. Banks came up with the idea of building superfancy structures that they thought would inspire confidence and make people want to leave their money there. That's why a lot of old bank buildings are so nice. I think your local bank is going back to the old ways. :)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! I always wondered about this bank...I remember when it was the church ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful indeed! Love those rocking chairs outside!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. I hope they see these lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It is a lovely building. Though, these days I rarely go inside banks. Just to the ATM.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. Yup, I play golf down here. Enough to decide I should stick with photography.
This is a Bank? It looks like a Hotel in my eyes :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Lowell !!

What a great bank! I always use the machine now so don't really go into mine very often.
ReplyDeleteI would never have imagined it's so grand from the outside!
ReplyDeleteWow! Me thinks that bank needs to share some of its money ... Very nice interior shots, Lowell.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is regal-looking, but with all those inviting seating areas, I would imagine some people might be tempted to park in front of the fire and watch television all day. It'd be kind of funny if they had to kick people out at closing time. Lovely photos, Lowell. And thanks for all the kind words and encouragement on my blog. It's much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Don't they want to set up an offshore branch in Manila? I'd be their first client.
ReplyDeleteI bank at Gateway and almost never use the drive-thru. Most people park and walk inside, have a person to person experience and come out with a big smile. What a concept!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted those rocking chairs on my front porch---Bob's house doesn't have a front porch----well it's way too tiny. MB
ReplyDeleteOh BTW did they build this bank with the customers money??? MB
ReplyDeleteWarm fuzzies about a bank? I'm not sure I can go there. But I'll try since it is the Christmas season. Or, open season, if you are the Devil or one of his spawn.
ReplyDeletethis is the most beautiful bank I have ever seen!
