As people head into the city on Highway 200, this is what they see. Not a very impressive sign. The "horse capital of the world" ought to be able to do better!
Not very horsey! Heck, even little Sequim, WA has big metal Roosevelt elk at either end of town to welcome people. . .but then, maybe they're leaving it all to the residents to do enough horsin' around that people driving through will get the idea. In the absence of anything better, Lowell, consider that your marching orders! ;-)
The sign might not be impressive, but the tree behind it certainly is. I'm wondering too how they determined they're the horse capital of the world. Lexington, KY might try to argue that point! :-)
You would think they would have a nice big horse sculpture, and a big arch to go under whit the words going over the top and lights. Or is that too 'over the top'?
I think they could advertise the fact a bit more. The sign and a painted horse would be nice. Get those fancy city fathers to rethink this whole deal. Go for it!!!! LOL MB
Well... one of those painted horses would be nice!
ReplyDeleteMakes a lot of horse sense to me.

ReplyDeleteThe "horse capital of the world" must create some discussion with horse towns in SD and other places. Nothing like a broad claim.
ReplyDeleteI can just hear horses galloping. Nice capture.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Ciel, I think they need a horse.

Something grandiose would be more appropriate, I agree.
ReplyDeleteYup...they should do better!

ReplyDeleteIt is a rather boring, little sign. Perhaps you could volunteer to design them a new one? ;)
ReplyDeletePS: Glad you're back!

Should, perhaps, be somewhat larger!
ReplyDeleteI agree - they need a painted horse there!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Cieldequimper. That's a good idea!
