Tesla charging stations

The Tesla, from what I hear, is a new type of electric car - luxurious and very expensive!  We stumbled on these Tesla charging stations quite by accident in the Heathbrook outdoor mall area. We have never seen them before so they must have been installed recently.

What struck me is they weren't attached to a convenience store or restaurant!

I don't know if there is a Tesla dealer nearby but perhaps a dealership is planned for our city?  I'd better put in my order now.  :)

  1. Whatever is happening, someone certainly has high hopes!

  2. I'd much rather listen to 12 consecutive hours of Tesla the band. Grin.

  3. I've heard of the cars being out there, but have no idea if there's a dealership here. There probably is.

Tesla the inventor features into a novel I'm reading at the moment, the follow up book to Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.

  4. I've seen electric car charging stations here in front of the Whole Foods store, but they are green and don't say Tesla on them. I never see any cars parked there though.
I know you and Lois Anne will enjoy the golf tournament. I have a cousin who used to play on the LPGA tour years ago. She was also on the golf team at UF (yes I have some gators in my family). Her name is Beverley Davis and she is a golf instructor now. She was named after my mother. Here is a link to her Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverley_Davis

  5. It looks like they are optimistic, Lowell! I think the cars are quite pricey - or at least they are here.
    Have fun tomorrow!

  8. Thanks a lot for sharing, Lowell, I hadn't seen them until now. Excellent captures.

  9. Are there really so many Tesla owners around there? They are VERY expensive. I didn't realize Ocala was so fancy!
I won't be able to watch the LPGA game for varied reasons: 1. I don't have a TV, 2. even if I did, it wouldn't get the Golf Channel. Hope you enjoy it though! Say "hi" to Sandy Gal from me.

  12. My friend drives an electric car, it's very disconcerting... due to the fact it's virtually silent when it moves!

  13. Looks like Ocala is way ahead of the places where I shop. ;)

  14. Nice picture, intriguing design: for what I know we have only two stations in town...

  16. I have a friend who has one and loves it. Tesla must have sponsored these charging stations. I've never seen them labeled with their name before. Tesla doesn't have traditional dealerships. Check inside your high-end mall and see if there is one inside the mall. That is where our Tesla dealership is located, inside the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall.

  17. I've never seen anything like that before. It would be interesting to know if other electric cars besides the Tesla could plug in there, and also if you ever see any plugged in. That was an unusual find.

  18. That's impressive and not a car in sight...

  19. Dear Lowell - There are many motor companies of which I don’t know the name, but now I remember Tesla. Electric car is said to be the next generation, but my husband purchased a hybrid Prius v last month. I’m happy for the low tax and gas costs which is less than half compared to the former one.
