During my lifetime I've read a number of weird, twisted tales. And I've walked some trails which offered their own twist on things. This is one of them.
Wisteria! Only thing wrong with them is that their bloom time is so short. But considering what's left behind, who can complain? And I do like the title of "twisted tales."
What powerful veins! Their twining and climbing around is amazing. If a real tree is coiled, it could be murdered. BTW, twists and turns can be fun at times on a long journey. My husband likes driving on zig-zag winding road.
"Twisted Trail". What a great name for some micro brew's new fall concoction. I think we've stumbled on to something here. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic, Lowell! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like the vines are holding everything up.
ReplyDeleteThey look so powerful!
ReplyDeleteI love these trees!
ReplyDeleteAwesome and I do love it!!! I agree with Andy, it does seem to be holding everything up!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is peculiar!
ReplyDeleteThe first tree almost looks like it has arms wrapped around the post. Lovely walkway.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture Lowell! What a great find.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely canopy.

ReplyDeleteIts the quirky twists in the road that make life more fun I reckon!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's clinging on for dear life, great find!
ReplyDeleteThose vines have been there for a very long time! I love the way they have twisted here.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's a very mature wisteria by the thickness of the trunk, can you take another shot when it's in flower pleeeeease Lowell :)
ReplyDeleteGreat find, Lowell !
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise, Mother Nature is really an awesome artist! Super picture, very well done!

I think it's way too late to untangle those vines.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love those twists and turns ... Literal and figurative!
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect setting for wisteria. Left to ramble on its own, it can overtake and kill understory trees.
ReplyDeleteI bet that this is beautiful when it is full of lavender blooms!
