I really don't know what this is. It stayed in place on our driveway for a couple of days. It appears to be some kind of grasshopper. Strange creature.
Alien life form, waiting for the right moment to morph and run amok. I really don't know what it is but the term "leaf hopper" seems to apply since it looks so very much like a leaf and can probably hop.
Interesting---I like it! Some sort of 'hopper I do suppose. Replacement Heifers are young female calves kept by the ranchers to replace culled cows in the near future. MB
Quite a bright green!
ReplyDeleteOr, it is a leaf.
ReplyDeleteYou have been finding some great ones -- great shots, not grasshoppers!! Does make for a colorful pic!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine and elegant creature.
ReplyDeleteOh Crikey! How big was it? You should have put a quarter next to is for scale.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely must be Irish!

He must be wondering why his reflection is blue!
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen something similar Lowell, very delicate insects, they sort of sit and sway. You captured a super macro here.
ReplyDeleteVery cool looking creature! Reminds me of a 'walking stick' -- an insect that looks like a small branch.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWonderful macro, Lowell !
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such a creature, with such a green color and a strange, complete different shadow.
That is one strange looking creature. I'm glad you captured (so to speak) for us to see.
ReplyDeleteExcelente trabalho.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim de semana.
It's a leaf with legs...

Looks like a katydid. A member of the grasshopper family.
ReplyDeleteIt looks otherworldly!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIs that a leaf hopper? Interesting.
ReplyDeleteHow curious! Is it still there now, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteAs long as they're not coming in droves...
ReplyDeleteNot very well camouflaged for a driveway, methinks.
ReplyDeleteOoh just awesome! nature can create beautiful creatures!
ReplyDeleteGood shade Lowell !!
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
