Awaiting the Farrier


According to the dictionary, a farrier is "a craftsman who trims and shoes horses' hooves." Farriers are critical to a horse's ability to do even the smallest of tasks.

    My late husband was a shoer until -bent under a horse he couldn't straighten up and they brought him home that way. He loved making shoes in the fire. This was back in the day when they used fire to shape the shoe

  5. Farriers do a wonderful job, but these rides only have one horsepower, and have a certain pollution problem.

  6. That's not a common profession anymore, at least not in many of our suburban regions. (And to answer your question, the compromise site could be a good one but I don't think our parks dept. has any interest in breaking stride at this point in the process. I think it was a done deal from the start. We'll see.)
