Corn Snake

So far as I can tell, this is a corn snake and is not poisonous. They are quite plentiful in central Florida. This one was hanging around a duck enclosure.

  3. The Corn Snake was probably hoping to find a duck egg, or perhaps a small duckling? Hope it is not tangled in that wire fence. Non-poisonious snakes do good in the environment controlling rodent and insect populations. .

  5. I find snakes repulsive even if its not poisonous but I would probably take a photo just because it's there. :)

  6. Pretty fellow! But as I'm not sure of my snake ID, I wouldn't want to pick it up. (Unless someone I trusted did it first. Any volunteers?)

  7. I'd have some serious concerns if I were a duck.

  8. Whether it’s poisonous or not, I get goose bumps when just think of a snake.

  9. I don't think it is a corn snake. Perhaps a yellow rat snake (diandy). Nonvenomous either; however this snake's head is really ugly. The are great for keeping out rats and mice, too. Just keep your distance.

  11. I wonder what was on its mind...a few eggs perhaps or a small furry creature?

  12. Does it feed on corn or is it called so because it has a corny sense of humour?
