Duplexes at Trilogy, Ocala Preserve

When we bought our home in the Trilogy resort we were not told that the resort would contain duplexes.   That's not important for we have lived in a twin-home previously and never want to live in a home with a common wall again.  Still, it's curious we were never given the option.

This is not a twin-home, though, but a duplex.  Each side is unique and different, not just one floor plan turned around.  We were able to go through this duplex recently and it's very nice.  One of the advantages of a place like this is that the builder takes care of the yard, the exterior of the house, the roof, etc.  Of course, your monthly fees are higher, but for many it's worth the trade-off of living with the common wall.

  1. Living wth the common wall.... Love that line. Hope it is a thick one!

  2. Personally I prefer a home that is completely detached.

  5. Good design to eliminate the occasional irritation of a common wall.

  6. I live in a bungalow that is joined to another one, in fact it is the end unit of 4 houses joined together. I never hear my neighbours and hardly ever see them! They are nice people and I like having them next door.

  9. It looks like the only common wall is in the garage which would be much easier to handle.
I was lucky where I live now. Only one common wall and a very quiet neighbor.

  11. I'd prefer detached. I rent a townhouse at present, and while the landlord's fine and the place itself is okay, the neighbours on the one side are problematic.

  12. Like Ton I wonder where the driveway is! You can get lucky with an attached home and have good neighbors!

  13. Our last home had a common wall. We got along just fine with our neighbors (except when they partied) but our current home has no common walls and over an acre of land. Much better. (Me too: Did someone get carried away with the landscaping? Where's the driveway? I wonder if it'll come once this is no longer a model and people don't traipse back and forth between the units.)

  14. Nice looking house. We have a common wall but it's so thick. Houses here are usually cider block made and you really can't hear much. Plus it's always nice if you have neighbors that you like. We've been lucky in that regard. The houses we owned in the US were just your usual detached house. Our house in Fairbanks was round so it would have been hard to have someone else attached to it. :)
