Found in a parking lot. Just laying there. All pinkish. One little girl's shoe. How did that happen? To whom did it belong?
One could even write a poem about this kind of thing. Wait, I did that! In fact, it's called "Orphans of the Feet," and you can find it here.
Poor little girl. This looks like a brand new shoe. Her mama can't be very happy about this.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very clever poem, Jacob, your "Orphans of the Feet"...it's a piece that definitely has legs.
Well written poem!
ReplyDeleteI like the vivid contrasts of the pink against the drab parking lot tones.
The shoe looks new to me, not one speck of dirt or one smudge is on it.
My guess is that the same person who left the toy that you showed 3 or 4 days ago probably dropped the shoe walking to their car in the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteIf someone were wearing the shoe, she would have noticed that it fell off.
I may have lost the message I left on your link. You are a constant source of amazement, Jacob; love a man who writes poetry!
ReplyDeleteSomewhere a little girl is crying. Or getting ready for a shopping trip. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the poem! A perfect tie-in.
et une petite fille qui va se faire gronder par sa maman ;)
ReplyDeleteOne could even think that you dropped this shoe on purpose, to show us your poem.
ReplyDeleteWhich, by the way, is a lovely and creative one. Bravo Jacob!
Your poem is just great! I agree; I love men who write poetry.
ReplyDeleteAt first, when I saw the photo, it made me think of a much more somber situation....a kidnapping. I've been reading the newspaper police blotter too much.
Great poem! And I do often wonder what happened to the mate.
ReplyDeleteMay be some kid forgot the shoe there while playing! The vibrant pink against the textured ground looks superb! Thanks for posting the link to poem! I liked it too!
ReplyDeletePixellicious Photos
My shoe !!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAw how sad. The little girls brother probably thew the other out the car window. You know them big brothers. MB
ReplyDeleteYou are now the Official Poet Laureate of CDP.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere there is a parent who probably is pretty upset about losing this shoe since it looks almost new! Great poem too.
ReplyDeleteI think it belongs to the little girl who lost her carousel toy too.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to make a guess, it would be that her older brother threw the shoe out the car window just as they were leaving.
ReplyDeleteLoved the poem.
Likely a child was being carried or in a stroller and the parents were too self involved to notice ... nice catch!
ReplyDeletesome kid is missing a shoe and some parent are going to spend more money on "incidentals"
ReplyDeletegreat eye.
worth a thousand words
Looks brand new. I can imagine someone getting a bit scolded...
ReplyDeleteThe big brother theory is interesting but I also think it looks pretty new and was dropped while being carried to the car. Still, makes for a good photo. Sort of poetic, even.
ReplyDeleteNice poem. Nice photo, too!
ReplyDeleteOOPS! I think I can hear her mother scolding her now!
ReplyDeleteAn original shot and poem...very nice both!
ReplyDeleteThings like this make me wonder too.
ReplyDeleteI actually played golf with a one-legged man this weekend. I'll have some pics of the course later this week.
You could write a WHOLE NOVEL about it. Cool!
ReplyDeleteEVer notice, whenever you see a shoe on the road or the highway it's ALWAYS alone. Never, ever the other shoe with it. The only exception, when you ALWAYS see two shoes together, is when you see a pair with laces tied together thrown over a telephone line.
