Ocala National Bank Building
The Ocala National Bank Building is located in the old downtown area of Ocala. It appears that much of the building is used for purposes other than banking.
Update: Ocala National Bank failed back in January 2009, was shut down by the government, and then taken over by Center State Bank. But this building is iconic and will probably continue to retain the name of Ocala National Bank for awhile.

Hello, j'ai beaucoup aimé le coucher de soleil d'hier.
Et cette banques,fait-elle des profits importants sur le dos des travailleurs ?
Now that looks like a building that's been there a while. I love seeing those big red signs at night.
cette banque est impressionnante, on dirait un château fort ;)
I like the tiled miniroofs and now I'm curious about the other purposes...
Love the bright colors. Looks like a residential hotel or something - very 40's.
How can it be Ocala and National at the same time?
This is a nice, humble bank building at least. Most are so outlandish, made with lots of money...whose?
It's a HUGE one if all of the building is a bank... Nicely shot :-)
Nice piece of construction :-)

It looks like a very old building. Is it? It is so white it must be blinding in the sun.
Cool shot. MB
Maybe apartments up top? Looks like a neat old building.
«Louis» heard you were going to go into the bank, make a withdrawal and send it to him. Stimulus package, doncha know? So what happened?
;-)
You can bank on it. This is a tall building for Florida is it not?
If it weren't for the sign, I would have thought it was an apartment building.
That blue sky is just awesome!
Terrific old building that looks as though it's been restored. That's great it's in use.
Stone Creek sure appears to be a super nice community.
I'd say this bank must do very well for itself. It constantly amazes me how much money banks and insurance companies have to spend on buildings.
Nice shot Jacob, except for that orange and blue together :)
What do they do there apart from banking? I am curious :-))
That's a big big building. They can stock a lot of money and gold there. My bank is tiny. Really tiny.
Great big & Great Blue SKY!!!
At first I thought it was a hotel!
Big bucks ..
It is a grand building and looks great against that blue sky. I guess it is always the case, in that way they get rental fees.
So Big !! Even i thought its a Hotel !! Nice shot !!
@ Lois - very funny! So what's the matter with orange and blue? Heh, heh! Are you an FSU fan? Maybe?
@ Louis - Something called the GOP screwed up the economy!
Uh, Jacob, you seem to forget which party has had the majority in Congress since 2006, and a few people with names like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Charles Rangel, et al have a "D" beside their name...and all are linked to the subprime crisis - and was the Congress that passed the legislation that created the mess, not GWB. (Not that «Louis» happy with GWB, but that's a different rant...)
;-)
Look at the cool window decoration! I love it. It reminds me a little of our Astor Hotel.
I was also thinking it might be a hotel, it is a classic "Spanish-oid". I have had the opportunity to go up of roofs of buildings this old and look at the original signs, made up of hundreds, maybe thousands, of light bulbs! This one although it is on the frame like old signs, looks like it might be updated?

@ Three Rivers - I'm not sure. We've lived her 5 years and I can't remember any changes to the sign...
It certainly is a great old building.
