You ought to hear them sing!

These three snobby little gulls want you to believe that they can really sing, like a real trio. They think you'll believe that because humans are gullible.

Hiding out

The boat, "Shirley," became a hiding place for this gull.  The boat, bobbing gently in the waves, provided a certain amount of protection for the bird who had sought out its own special place far from the maddening crowd!

A "Must Have"

This was found in one of our upscale department stores. The newest thing in "fashion," indeed a "must have" - a khaki suit - in one case with torn jeans. It took me awhile to get the shot because I had to stop laughing!

Sometimes I'm convinced there is no hope for the human race!

Canadian Geese inhabit the course - these two are a couple!

The infamous tree on hole #11

Stone Creek is a Del Webb 55+ development which, when completed, will consist of about 3600 homes.  There are many amenities, such as a beautiful 18-hole golf course, and it is a gated community which provides an element of safety for the residents.

The PGA Head Golf Professional is Marc Russell.  Marc has played an important role in making the Stone Creek Golf Course one of the finest in all of central Florida.

We'll show more of the golf course and community tomorrow.  For those who are interested, we do have Stone Creek galleries and slide show on our website.  Just click here:  L & L Photography.

The View From Here

Some mornings at this time of year, cardinals appear in the bushes outside our home office window. The kitties sit on the desk and watch them. The cardinals don't seem to mind. The car in the background is actually quite far away, but appears closer because of the camera lens.

TooJay's Gourmet Deli - Spanish Springs, The Villages

Toojay's also has a presence in the other "downtowns" of The Villages: Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. Toojay's is the closest thing to a New York deli that you will find in central Florida.

Bucket Trucks

Not being a fan of high places, a ride in a bucket truck was not on my "bucket list." That does not mean, of course, that I could not take a photo of two big bucket trucks resting side by side in a parking lot after a hard day's night (that's a nod to the Beatles just in case you missed the reference). 😎

Rayonier Advanced Materials

This photo was taken last summer at Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

It portrays the Rayonier Advanced Materials plant which was built in 1937. "The plant produces 160,000 metric tons of softwood cellulose specialties per year.

"These high purity wood pulps are used in manufacturing photographic film, cigarette filters, whipped topping, eyeglass frames, vitamins, rayon fabric, kidney dialysis filters, toothpaste, and ice cream."

The plant employs 320 people and adds $35 million to Florida's wages annually.

An Exercise in Frustration Reduction

It was a beautiful morning...warm and sunny, but not hot.  This beauty decided to romp around the pasture.  At first we thought he was just having fun, but then we realized he had a friend, a brown beauty in another pasture that he was unable to get to...so, this romp was a way of reducing massive frustration.  ðŸ¤

There's a lesson here, maybe.  The next time frustration overtakes us, let's just run around the block a few times.  Yes?

Crashed sailboat

Some of you will remember this crashed boat.  It's an iconic figure at Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages.

But, like the other fishing boat in this lake, this boat is also rotting away.  I think it's time the folks in charge of such tourist teasers should replace them with upgraded and newer wrecks.

[This photo has been reposted on The Villages (Florida) Photos.]

Lonely Lost Golf Ball

This poor golf ball has been imprisoned behind a barbed wire fence for weeks. It was hit astray by a rather poor golfer (I'm not naming any names) and left to rot. Someone (again, no names) attempted to reach it and pull it to freedom but the barbed wire made that impossible. It's all very sad.

The Black Jeep of the Family

It so happens one of my grandsons owns a black jeep. Needless to say, we forwarded this photo to him. He's not the "black sheep" of the family; that would be me.

PremEar Hearing with Jeff Smalt

Having had experience with several other hearing operations in Ocala, I have concluded that PremEar Hearing is the premier hearing center in the entire city. PremEar features the fantastic Siemens hearing aids.  Siemens is an international leader in a variety of technological fields. PremEar is owned and operated by Jeff Smalt, a man who truly cares about his customers and constantly goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure his customers are satisfied. Even if you purchased hearing aids from another provider and need help he will be there.

He assisted me on several occasions to get my old hearing aids functioning again without charge. Who does that these days?

Needless to say, when I finally had to spring for a new pair, I went to Jeff who did everything right and I'm hearing better than ever these days. If you live in the Ocala area and need hearing aids, head for PremEar!

A Slow Day at the Office

The City Daily Photo theme for March 1 is "Black & White in Color." I'm not quite sure what that means, which must mean it is open to interpretation, and this is my interpretation.

For other interpretations of this theme, click HERE.
"Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again." — Henri Cartier-Bresson
