Stone Creek - A frosty morn

While not unheard of, this scene is very rare. These are villas just across the way from ours and the photo was taken this morning about 9 AM.

It is very cold here, relatively speaking. We don't like it a bit. Fortunately, we should be back to our normal high of 70 degrees (F) in a few days.

What a sight for you!

I don't like the cold either. That's why I'm headed to Palm Beach next weekend. :D

Lowell said...

@ Halcyon - I think it will be warmer by then. It's going down to 33 in Miami tonight! 20 degrees here! That's absolutely insane!

We don't like it either! I don't mind a day or two but this is enough. Stay warm!

This is an unusual composition, I like it! I found a link about freezing manatees and iguanas. I'm sure they hope it warms up soon, too.

That's absolutely a rare scene...I think I'll just settle for that rather than thick snows. We've had a series of beautiful days here now and we're happy with it, with highs of 72.

I've been reading about all the Florida visitors who came expecting warmth but got cold instead! Here's wishing you and us warmer weather soon!

Saw on TV . . .snow in Ocala this morning! Stay warm. Welcome to Stone Creek.

That does look cold and it's actually a cool looking picture(no pun intened). I've been checking the weather from my home town and it's in the low 70's just about everyday while it's in the 20's here. I like the cold and I love the snow at least for now.

Whoa. Frost on the roof. Are you sure you're still in Florida? Maybe you took a wrong turn somewhere.

Frosty morns are not what we expect from the Sunshine State. I hope you all thaw out soon. MB

Frosty, man! Frosty!

Neat, clean and orderly view.

Sorry the weather has been so cold for you!

Are you now living in one of these nice villas? Well, wherever you are, I just hope you feel cozy and warm! I would send you some warmth from Brazil if we were there... :)
God bless you!

Great composition with a very strange sky, so different from the blue one we are used to in your pictures. I can't realize how you can get under (our) zero in Florida!

Aha! ;-) Sorry but I have to smile! Put your feet up in front of the fire, with a mug of something and watch the world in white! Stay warm!

Alsace is a BEAUTIFUL region and also a special one in France because it changed hands so often over the centuries between France and Germany. Lorraine for the most part too, but isn't as pretty as Alsace.

Abandoned bikes in Versailles? Nay, not abandoned, just waiting for the next ride!

Have a great Sunday, bring us a couple of snow photos!

I never thought I'd see such a sight. I'm glad you caught it on film. In another few weeks you'll all be wondering if this was just a bad dream.

Yeah I've had enough! Last night it was forcast to be 19 degrees and tonight supposedly 14. This is getting ridiculous!

Leif Hagen said...

COLD???? Ha ha ha ha ha Go put on a LONG sleeve shirt!

Lowell said...

@ Safe Leif - I had on a LONG sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt, a heavy jacket, a hat, a scarf, mittens, etc. It was COLD. It's still cold. At 10:40 a.m. it is still only 32 degrees. That's freezing, even in Minneesota!

And the really bad thing is such temperatures are illegal in Florida! But where are the coppers when you need them?

Bob Poris said...

We had a light dusting of snow yesterday morning. I see no reason why a well run, gated community should allow that.

Lowell said...

@ Ciel - No more "snow" for now. It's 10:45 AM and the temp has hit 32 degrees going to 48, then back to 19 tonight! Crazy!

And in our new villa we have no fireplace which is one thing I miss.

Thanks for the info on Alsace-Lorraine. One day we shall have to visit as Lois has people from that area, too.

Lowell said...

@ Cezar - See the villa in the middle? We live in one just like it but across from it. And we have pine trees in back.

They are actually twin-homes. New and very nice.

It appears that we're going to be warming up in the next few days. Thank goodness. After living in Florida for 25 years, our blood has thinned considerably!

Is that frost?? Oh my!

I REALLY know what you mean, Jacob! I hate cold and this is the coldest day this winter so far! A third of Portugal is under snow now (gladly not the country center... LOL!) and this polar cold wave is supposed to last one more week...

A very pretty picture! Hope the fruit crops are OK!!!!!

slim said...

You might as well move to Boston, Jacob. Sleet?? Snow?? 30 degrees?

I like all the sky space in this image. I would like to see this in black and white as well.

This is a beautiful scene! We have row houses / villas over here but not so much space available to see them like this...

Great composition; the frost is enhanced by the white sky.

Only 2 hrs from Paris these days with the TGV high speed train!

Great composition and very unusual - lovely.

Hmmm-doesn't look like there was enough for you to make a snow angel!

Lisa Wilson said...

I heard it was cold there! I have a friend who took a disappointingly cold trip to Florida last week.

32F that sounds harsh. It's been like that here too but the difference is that we've been expecting it :) I like this composition, with the big grey sky. It does looks frosty.
