The College of Central Florida

The sign is wrong. It used to be known as Central Florida Community College, but was recently upgraded to full collegiate status with a new name and in 2010, the College of Central Florida began offering a limited number of bachelor (4-year) degrees, whereas previously, under it's old name, it could offer only associate degrees.

This is a huge boon for the Ocala area as well as surrounding communities, for it means that students can obtain a regular 4-year degree without traveling to Gainesville or Orlando or cities even further away.

Do the college also offer classes for members of the community not interested in a degree or credits?

I like the nice, bright greens in this one and they make the blue sign really stand out.

Jacob, is this a different school from the University of Central Florida? It seems odd to have both a college and a university with the same "Central Florida" tag.

No matter what it is called, I went to a JC for my first two years of university, and it helped me decide what I wanted to do before I transferred to a four-year one.

I hope many students are able to take advantage of this new opportunity.

Signs are expensive .. and I am not sure that staying in a one or even many horse town for college with the same kids you went to pre school with is a good thing ... get out, try those wings .. experience life and donate a sign to the local college!

I hope it is a good school. It is nice to have a college within driving distance.

I've noticed several of the community colleges in Florida have done this. I think it is a wonderful idea!
