Dr. Gordon C. Schwenk, M.D., and Ocala Eye

Dr. Gordon C. Schwenk performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes in the month of December. With the new lenses he implanted, I can see clearly without glasses for the first time in over 30 years!

Dr. Schwenk is a senior partner in the Ocala Eye organization, and has been involved with Ocala Eye since 1984. Over the years he has performed over 12,000 intraocular procedures.

Not only is he a remarkable surgeon, but Dr. Schwenk has a terrific sense of humor.
And some of his jokes have stood the test of time (they are really old!) ;-)

In some small way this post is an attempt to express my thanks and appreciation to Dr. Schwenk and all the people at Ocala Eye for giving me a new vision of the world!

There's much more on Ocala Eye here.

Hah! Nothing like clear vision to better see the murky issues! Kidding... Glad it went well. Must be rather liberating to see without glasses.

Dr Jank at Ocala Eye did both Irene and my cataract surgeries. We are very fond of him and Ocala Eye!

Dr. Warren did the surgery on my droopy eye lids a few years ago. I was amazed at how it improved all the fields of my vision. The VA had suggested that I have it done years ago, but I waited. I wish I hadn’t waited though. I really needed it and did not realize it. He did a great job. It was painless and the recovery period was very short and easy.

I think people are frightened and avoid such needed surgery. I think the use of lasers have made a huge difference.

We recommend them to all in need of eye care. They are very professional, friendly competent etc.

I am glad you did yours.

I'm happy for you! My father-in-law had one eye done last month, still needs to get the other done. He was so shocked at how well he could see the day after the surgery!

A colleague of mine also had cataract surgery in the fall of 2010. He doesn't need his old coke bottles anymore. Sounds like a great side effect of the surgery!

Best wishes to you and Lois-Anne in 2011.

In addition to being a remarkable ophthalmologist, Dr. Schwenk is also an amazing father and grandfather (this is his oldest daughter speaking, and I have a 7-month-old son). Thank you very much for your wonderful remarks regarding my father and his practice. He/they work very hard and love what he/they does/do. :)

Friendly looking doctor with a nice smile. I think I'd appreciate the good nature and jokes if someone was about to do surgery on my eyes because that is one surgery the thought of freaks me out the most. I'm really glad yours went so well!
