...at the Intersection of Highway 441 and State Road 40. Perhaps in its most recent incarnation it may have been some kind of fast food joing. But years ago, it was likely one of many gas stations that dotted Highway 441 as it wound its way through Florida. Most of them offered "full service," a concept that is unknown today. That is, someone pumped your gas, checked your oil and the air in your tires and washed your windshield. All that at no extra cost.
in india all fuel stations are 'full service'! :)
le "full service" revient petit a petit, car cela fait la difference entre les petites stations services et les stations des grands centre. Les gens sont sensibles a ces petits gestes
That was the good old life. Now people sell their grandmother's gold teeth to put some petrol in their cars.
I DO know how to fill my own car's tank, but we still have full service gas stations here in the Philippines. Plenty of pawn shops too... but I don't know how they work!
Hello! This is interesting...Colors are very beautiful in this photo...
There seem to be a PLETHERA of "We buy gold and silver" places these days. They offer full service too. They fill their pockets FULL and hand the seller back a few cents on the dollar, I suspect. Just saying.
I have never enquired into these gold and silver places. But somehow I doubt that they're "full service".
Is there any gold and silver left to buy?
For some people, petrol is precious as well...maybe expensive too!
Between "gold or silver", no doubts I prefer silver.
The "We Buy Gold" signs have became a real plague here. Sign of the times, of course. And yes, I clearly remember the long gone full service at gas stations. Now we have foreign gypsies trying to clean your car wind shield when you stop at traffic lights in more isolated places... Actually I haven't seen this lately, maybe because the policemen are doing their job, preventing drivers from being robbed.
I pass a pawn shop that is near the casinos. I stopped in once and it's pretty sad. Apparently, people who are hooked on gambling will sell/pawn anything to play.
Here in Spain that kind of business is starting to grow, sadly.

These places are popping up all over around here too. I have never been in one but I wonder about why there are so many. They all look a lot like this one too.
People pumping gas for you? Ridiculous! Never happened. Lowell, you have gone too far . . .
And the gas station guy usually wore a nice uniform!
100k Might buy you 2 parking spaces in a condo garage in that area of town! I agree the world has gone nuts or at least the real estate world here has.
These are just popping up everywhere!
we have a lot of those in our area, along with payday loan stores. I hear its because our congressman is easy on that industry (Hensarling)
Great shot of the place. Nice colors.
Ah, yes, full service. The closest I came to that was last summer in Oregon, where an attendant pumped gas for me.
