Ferris Wheel - Closed for business

This is the 2nd year a ferris wheel has been installed in downtown Ocala for the holidays. On a gray, rather gloomy day, we stopped to get a closer look. But, alas, it was not open for business. And except for one mother with three disappointed little kids, no one else was around. The ferris wheel operates only on the weekends, so far as we can tell.

Sheesh. Two disappointments here:

1. the Ferris wheel is not working!
2. It's a gloomy day!!

I thought Florida was the Sunshine State :))

This one feeds my post holiday blues for sure.

My father always took me up when I was a baby...love riding them still.

It looks lonely without happy people on it.

Beautiful photo of a ride I do not go on--don't like small, high, open spaces!

Cool shot in B&W. Were you really so disappointed that you didn't get your ride?! :-)

understandably disappointing for the kids but what a great image you've made of it.

I agree with Randy, it does look a bit lonely without any people to enjoy it.

You've captured Depression in this image. Against that sky... ya, you have.

Neat photo. Disappointing for kids, but it almost looks a little sinister!

This made for an awesome and somewhat eerie picture! This could ignite the imagination of a mystery writer.

But pour moi, it reminds me of the grand roue at Tuilleries. You might see another shot of that one soon. LOve the BW here.
