"Hello, I'm looking for a place to spend the night..."

I have never noticed this pay phone in Ocala's downtown square and I would probably not have noticed except my eye caught what appeared to be a homeless man walk across the square and make a call. The square is frequently used as a rest area for homeless people during the day.

I hope he finds a place. I can't remember the last time I used a pay phone. Can't think of where I would find one, either.

Well, the phone booth does blend in well with its surroundings. I think being homeless must be a lot easier in Ocala than in Toronto. It's frightening that some people sleep outdoors in extreme cold!

That pay phone does look like it might blend in with the surroundings. Ours are so very different - must see where I can find one now!

j'aime bien le design de ces veilles cabines telephoniques et puis il y a beaucoup de respect car elle marche encore, ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas ici ;(

Interesting shot. Both for the homeless man and the phone booth. I didn't think they had those anymore!

Such a common sight to see a homeless person - sad but true. And rare to see a phone booth!

That might be one reason the pay phone is still there...to support the homeless community.

The last time I saw a pay phone I was in Toronto...none in this area that I know of.

Our town has been literally stripped of pay phones, at first because of drug transactions, but now electronics have taken over.

I can't remember the last time I saw a real pay phone.

is a pleasure to see again the phones to money, in my city they are removing them from circulation, thinks that with the current crisis that is experiencing the world this holiday season the only stores that were good were the ones that sell mobile phones !! Bad very bad!

All phones in my neighborhood have been broke. Funny to see one being used.

Cool and interesting photo, Lowell. We have here also many homeless people, but they have all a mobile phone...

It seems funny to see a pay phone anywhere now. My father worked for the telephone company all his life. His first job with them was going around collecting the change out of pay phones and he worked his way up to being a top level manager by the time he retired.

I couldn't think of where I'd find a pay phone now-a-days! Hope things got better for this man.
