The Hummer

The Hummer is an enigma. It appears to be a military vehicle with all of the charm of an Army jeep. In recent years its popularity seems to have declined.

The front "license" plate contains a pirate graphic which is similar in looks and color to the flag of Florida State University. But I'm not sure it has any connection to FSU.

Ocala, however, is Gator (University of Florida) territory. If the owner of the Hummer is indeed a graduate of Florida State, he or she should know it is a risky venture at best to invade the Gator-loving city of Ocala! ;-)

I used to see a lot of these around here but not so much any more. I hear the gas mileage is not so good.

I have always found them offensive at the least. The driver has got to be either arrogant or insecure, the gas consumption is offensive, and the size makes it impossible to park next to one and get out of your car. Did anyone say I was opinionated? Ashurbanipal

Fun to drive but not very environmentally friendly.

I am amazed whenever I see one of these things on the road.

Hummers are an enigma... too big and too gas-guzzling to be practical.

Given how clean and shiny it looks, it must just be used for grocery shopping trips etc. And not for riding over rough terrain!

Maybe the decline is a result of the amount of petrol they use. Although I'm not sure electric cars have caought on in your part of the world.

Can you believe there are Hummers here, but not many, thank goodness. Too big. Even for the US. I am in a downsizing mode...

Hey--WV is 'ummil'....like it's trying to say 'Hummer'.

Personally I find these cars ugly, but I think the main reason for their decline in popularity has been rising gas prices.
I doubt even the most loyal gator fan would dare to mess with this car though!

I really do dislike these vehicles! They always make me think of excess and waste.

NOT my favourite vehicle. I wonder about people who drive HUGE cars or live in HUGE houses. I am not a fan of conspicuous consumption.

Maybe they should make an electric hummer. Looks like there's a lot of room for batteries.

I think these things are just ridiculous. I have seen men only drive these....testosterone??
