Sholom Park, on Ocala's west side, was designed to be a place of tranquility and peace and meditation. Throughout the park, the trees and bushes and flowers encourage one to stop, rest, and allow nature's beauty to calm one's spirit.
The heart tree, shown in the 2nd photo, is especially meaningful and many have found it inspirational in their lives.
The theme for the first day of June, 2012, is "tranquility." Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

It certainly does look peaceful and welcome back!
Welcome back Ocala! :-) Oooh yes, I might take a nap I'm that tired! Thanks for your lovely comment on the rant blog!
I always find Spanish moss hanging from the trees to be restful. A very tranquil park indeed!

This must be a very tranquil park, good choice for this theme day!
good to see you again!
I feel calmer already....
The heart tree. I like that.
There's some interesting figures formed on the trunk's surface...
God bless you!

No moss has grown on you in a month.
Love images of the moss hanging.
Wonderful post, Lowell!
P.S. You made me laugh with the Ms. Lombard thing! :-)
Yup, You cannot beat Spanish Moss. Re. your question: my photo was taken in Savannah, Ga. Love that area of the country.
The shade from the tree and the Spanish moss give the scene a tranquil feel. And I can understand why the heart tree would be inspiring. :)

We all need a place like this one to go to from time to time.
Glad you are back! Hope you had a good vacation.
Great place to explore. I like the ghost like image in the tree.
Lovely! It think it's great that towns and cities create spaces for residents to be out in nature. Is that Spanish moss hanging from the trees?
beautiful captures!
Florida knows how to dress its trees for the evening in gowns of moss.
