A good old fashioned barber shop...

...these are getting harder and harder to find. They've been ousted by such as "Shear Drama," or "A Cut Above," or "Hello Gorgeous Hair Salon," or "Cala Cutz," or "Dezine's Hair Artistry." What's a fellow to do?

Isn't this the truth. This winter my 70-year old barber for the last 32 years retired. (His 92-year old boss retired the year before!) Now I have a young kid who cuts my hair while wearing a borsalino hat and sunglasses. In Florida, it is a young blonde woman with tattoos dripping down her arm.

It looks like this barber buys gold as well as cuts hair/ Better not fall asleep in the barber chair or you could lose your gold fillings.

This barber shop looks like it's a cut above some of the ones you mentioned. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Lol @ EG!

Well, you might have to have your hair done in an artsy way...

This place is quite bombastic. The sign is put up like a large shopping complex franchise.

Ain't been in one for 40 years! With the fog I was in last night, it a good thing my hair is naturally curly. Have fun with this!

Where is a person to go to get all the latest new about town!

And why do the new ones think they have to come up with some cutesy name with weird spellings!

At your age, be glad you have something to cut! LOL

Barbers are almost extinct here too...

Yes, barbers are few and far between. After my husband and I moved in together he was surprised that I didn't expect to cut his hair. His mom did it for his dad, after all! So we got the shears and I set to work. I've been doing it (and his beard) ever since. It helps that there's nothing left on top (I had nothing to do with that; his sweet head came to me that way).

So very true, and even harder to find someone that still does a hot shave. Just before my father died, he could no longer shave himself, I thought I would treat him to an old fashion hot shave at a barber - couldn't find either one.
