Perhaps the command was to, "Sleep!", and the dog is obeying perfectly.

Love and persistence is the key. I think most dogs want to please their people, it just takes a while to understand what it is that is wanted.

It depends what he's being trained for. If the training includes long periods of lying on the ground, I'd say he's doing great! :)

It's difficult to train a person. Sometimes you just have to relax and look at them.
