Snake in the road

On a recent bike ride, we almost ran over this little critter. So, I had to stop and talk to him about looking both ways before he tried to cross the road. But, as snakes tend to do, he just sighed and slithered away. Lois Anne saw one just like this in our yard yesterday. Maybe he followed us home?

He probably thinks he is bigger and scarier than he looks!

It's your new pet, I wonder what it wants for lunch?

Think that's a black rat snake. Useful for keeping rodent populations in control. Glad you wished him or her a good day and sent it on its way.

Google Dashboard is not functioning properly again. I think I should probably change?

You 'almost' ran him over and left that monster alive?

He looks pretty harmless to me... maybe he wanted to partake of your hospitality and stopped by!

Maybe he did follow you home because you were so kind in your lecture or maybe he felt you had no business lecturing him---could go either way.
I didn't thank you for the poem. I was quite weepy about the sad chair.
We seldom see squirrels here so I was quite taken with the little charmer. It is the second one I have seen in the 3 years I have been at Bob's.
I did sit in the driveway of my house and tried testing my skills as an animal talker. So I said to the snake if you really can hear and understand me come my way and he slithered right up to me---It so startled me that I jumped up and ran to the house. Lost opportunities!!

UH OH! Not sure I'd want snakes following me home.

He looks slithery alright. Snakes are OK with me if I have plenty of warning.

Eek!

As long as it's not poisonous, I'll leave him be. I just wish they thought the same.

I know snakes are good to have around but I would rather they stay out of sight. I must admit though, whenever I see one I do take a picture of it.

Oh, you old snake charmer! You better watch what you're saying or your house will be completely surrounded!
