Church of Hope

This Church of Hope is located in an old grocery store building in a small strip center in southeast Ocala.

Going for that ominous effect with the clouds I see.

Church of Good Hope or Publix?

Plenty of room for the faithful with room for produce and dairy at the back.

Wonder if they still do 'January Sales'... despite the new ownership? ;-)

Shopping center churches are becoming more common.

Hmmm. Old churches are turning into houses and old shopping centres into churches.... I wonder where we're going next with this.

It looks a bit like a railway station...

I don't see church in anything to that... but evangelicals probably wouldn't see anything wrong with it.

The logo looks like one for a fitness centre! It's a good reuse of the space, Lowell!

Florida seems to have more of these non-standard churches than other places I've lived. I'm used to Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, etc. Not saying this is good or bad, just sayin'.

I see these storefront churches a lot these days -- on both coasts. The comment from Birdman above made me laugh out loud.

I made a note about Lake Sumter if we ever decide to go visit the Villages again. We did drive through that area and I can see what you mean about it being prettiest. We thought about eating there, but ended up going back to SS.

I agree with Pat, that logo does look more like a fitness center. There is a shopping center church near me too.

Thanks for the good wishes in your comment on my blog today Lowell. Same to you and Lois Anne!
