Florida kitsch

Kitsch is a word with varied meanings, but when you speak of Florida kitsch, you're referring to funky, colorful items such as this palm tree, plastic pink flamingos, etc. Actually, there is less Florida kitsch here in Ocala, and this palm tree with the purple trunk would be more like what you'd find in south Florida, which is inundated with kitsch!

I wonder if there is a term "Arizona kitsch"? I do know there is a guy here who makes colorful palm trees similar to this but in really bright colors. I've seen them all over town.

I love the feel and colours!

Hey! I need one of these! My neighbors would be s-o-o-o envious. Then I could get a little flock of flamingos to go with it.

At least it doesn't need watering.

I like it, too. Kitschy, but cool.

Is it bad for me to admit that I like the kitsch? There is something appealing about the whimsy and bright colors. :)

We have a fair amount in SW FL too, but agreed nothing like 'the other coast'.

It does make a statement I suppose---but what?

Hey! Wait a minute! There is very little kitsch down here in SWFL. Maybe on the other coast.
