Wow - You are right. They are gorgeous! Looks like they will provide some nice shade from the warm temperatures you are having too. Have a good weekend!
Hmmm. This has me thinking that I haven't seen crepe myrtle in a long time. Perhaps it doesn't grow in Washington...or I've not been observant. (Probably the latter.) BTW: If you want to know who Lee Cox is, take a look at the license plate in yesterday's photo.
Really gorgeous blooms, Lowell! I love crepe myrtles whose long-lasting flowers are precious during the scorning summer. I especially like red ones, which look aflame under the burning sun. They have just started blooming in my place.
I have ALWAYS wanted a crepe Myrtle--always. they are so pretty. they grow here (from a nursery) but usually don't bloom because we don't have long enough days of sunlight or is it hot enough? This June we are having hot enough. enjoy the day MB
Okay, Lowell...I'll try again... There is a car in your post "Disappearing into the vortex" yesterday, right? It shows a grey body, rear window, red lights...and a license plate in the middle. White with green lettering. The green lettering reads, "LEE COX." If you still can't see it, please forgive my hallucination and remove any comments I've made referencing this person!

I do love crepe myrtles. They are such a southern thing to me.
Wish that these beautiful trees could survive the Minnesota winter. They are lovely!
