This must be new. I've never before seen the sign nor have I heard of a fencing club in downtown Ocala. But, it's probably a good warning if you must be there at night. En Garde!
Well, my kid's Dad was a fencer -- and more on the US Pentathlon Team and he was silver medalist at the Olympics in Tokyo back in the good ole 60s, but while fencing is quite popular in Europe, I don't think it's that big of a deal here in the states. Interesting to see this sign!!
We have a fencing club here...I guess we do because I have seen them fencing at the park. But I have never seen a fancy sign like that one anywhere around here.
I have never seen a fencing club here in the southwest. That's not to say there isn't one but, I have never come across one. I always think of it as a very European sport. What interesting find.
Lowell, next time you are at the grocery store in the freezer section look for Talenti Gelato. It should stand out because it's packaged in clear plastic pint sized jars. The Red Raspberry Chocolate Chip is my favorite but, they are all in the 'so good it's life changing' category.

Did you go in?
Just so they keep it in the club and don't go sword-fighting all over the streets of Ocala!

It looks like an elegant sport! Quite dashing!
The fencing we've got around is mostly for livestock. Any poking it does is with barbed wire. That there fencing of yours looks pretty highfalutin.
Pretty cool. The daughter of a woman who worked in my office was a fencer and got a college scholarship out of it.
P.S., I like your banner photo.
Nice sign.
Can you go in and check it out?
Fascinating sport!
I love the name "En Garde". Catchy and a propos. :)
Many people carrying swords over there?
Touche!
A very "elegant" sign, clean and well kept.
We don't have fencing clubs here, as I know...
Sounds like a rather scary sport to me, definitely not for klutzes. ;)
I'll be weeding in the 'en garden' this morning and repairing some fencing there. THIS is not a joke. I call it work.

One of my friends has enjoyed doing that. I know there are the odd clubs here for it.
The one sport I regret not having learned. So elegant. So precise...
I like the 'touché' comment above :).
It would be a fun thing to try maybe. You could be the fourth or the fifth Musketeer

It's an elegant sport to watch. Well spotted Lowell.
I've never thought much about fencing. Seems like one of those pseudo-sports to me...
