Amenities at On Top of the World

On Top of the World is a very large 55+ community located about 8 miles southwest of downtown Ocala.  It offers a variety of home types, and many amenities including three golf courses, several swimming pools, a cultural center, numerous clubs and organizations, and much more.

Because of all this the community continues to grow as older adults look for places to live that provide security and the above-mentioned amenities.

Circle Square Commons is an open area on the north side of OTOW.  The Commons holds a farmer's market there once a week and entertainment is provided quite often.

The cultural center offers a wide variety of events as you can see from the sign above.  It often features well-known singers and entertainers such as Peter Yarrow from Peter, Paul & Mary.

We are going to need more and more of these places, Lowell!

You certainly would never be able to complain about having nothing to do living in a place like that!

How lovely, Lowell! There should be more places like this everywhere!

Community building is always a good idea, IMO.

Hopefully those who live there feel like they are on top of the world too.

I think I even see a Blues Brothers type duo in one of the flyers. Plenty to keep people entertained.

Well nice to have a nice place to enjoy life. Does Ciel think that when one gets old all we have to do is 'rot'? Oh Ciel, we just enjoy life. a cabin in the woods would be nice though.

Irene and I have lived in On Top of the World, a senior community since 2005, after leaving Tampa, St. Petersburg, Boynton Beach and Clearwater Florida. Irene has lived in, and visited Florida for many more years than I, and is familiar with most of Florida. Although each area we built in and lived in were very nice, with many advantages and excellent facilities, we are most satisfied with our life in Ocala, (also known as “The Horse Capitol of America). It is in North Central Florida, which is somewhat rural and small town. it is currently enjoying an increasing population of Seniors from all over the USA .Most seek the amenities typical of Senior living, with access to expanding facilities coming to the area. It has, excellent hospitals, medical specialties and care. We are more than pleased. We have a variety of ethnic food available, except for Jewish deli’s with a broad menu in addition to the Deli features. We can drive forty minutes, for an excellent Deli but do not enjoy the inconvenience of driving for a meal. Hopefully, we'll get a good Jewish deli here soon.

Yep, Any place like this would be a good place to own a share in! People keep getting older and business is (baby-booming. Suddenly we notice that we are among the oldest people in our 55+ snowbird resort -- when we started RVing full time we were always the youngest everywhere we went. I don't understand how that happened!
