Beer, Bike & Blustery Weather
Huge rainstorms came through our area yesterday afternoon and evening and while the rain continued this morning, the winds had quieted considerably.
Nonetheless, the threat of stormy weather remained. But we shed our fears and bravely drove to a USPS/UPS/FedEx shipping store to mail a package.
I bravely waited in the car. Glancing around, I espied a bike in front of the liquor store. It was so forlorn standing alone in the rain.
Then the rain began to fall harder. A young man came out of the liquor store. He carried a 12-pack of beer which he fit into a basket on the front of the bike. Shaking his head a few times to shed the wetness in his hair, he wiped his eyes (see photo above), and rode off into the sunset.
(Of course you know it was raining and all this took place in the morning, so there was no sunset.)
Actually, I don't know where he rode off to, but I felt a wee bit sorry that he had to brave Mother Nature to bring his treasure home. I probably should have offered to help by taking the package off his hands.

I don't think he'd have accepted the offer.
Best to wait a while in the car!
Ha, ha. I too doubt whether he'd have forked over his beer. Good photo and story, though!
I don't think he would have handed over his treasure! lol
Loved the illustrated tale you wove!
I think he would have preferred to keep his treasure, Lowell! LOL! Love these rain photos! :)
You were very brave venturing out in that mess! I just stayed inside all day and rested. We got about 8 inches of rain, but not much wind. Oh and yes, I took all those pictures of my trip with my iPhone. Still haven't downloaded my real camera yet!
Splish splash! It looks like it may have been a good day to pack it in and have a beer.
Probably celebrated when he got home. I think he would decline your offer but you never know :)
He saw you and did not want that you take a photo of him :)
Excelentes fotos urbanas.
Um abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
That first scene is so desolate. Looks like something out of a 1950's movie. Setting....
and then comes the guy on the bike to develop the action.....
and then comes the overactive imaginations of Jacob & Janis to spend way too much time imagining what is going to happen next...
when all this guy wants to do is enjoy a beer with a friend. Sleep. Go to work the next day. (Not) the end.
I just can't imagine life without BEER.
You had to bring him home and he had shared with you his beer. I love your story and the photos. This is life.
gotta do what you gotta do when you need that beer! poor guy though, i always feel bad for bike and motorcycle drivers out in the rain...we have the windy weather today and even cool out!
I hate biking in the rain. Today I have had a accident with my bike. a wound on my arm, a bump on my head. Someone took me in the car and took me to school. The school teacher did ice on the bump. Now the bump is smaller. I saw nothing at first, then stars and then I could see again. I am home now.
You are telling so funny about the man in the rain
You just observed a man on a mission.
He must have been desperate for a beer.
