Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant & Gallery

We did a post on this restaurant a short time ago, just after it opened its doors in the Heathbrook Outdoor Mall.  It was a very busy place suggesting that it would be a great success.

The other day we had the opportunity to dine at Las Margaritas.  The first thing we noticed is how big and how colorful it is.  The center section, made up of tables and booths, is huge.

Another section to the left offers more dining space and a gallery.  Some of the items to be found in the gallery are shown in the last photo above.

To the right of the center section is another area which again provides additional dining space as well as a large bar. There is also an outdoor eating area.

I would say the food was adequate, but nothing special.  The the service was fine but the noise level was very high making conversation difficult.

In the short time it has been in business, however, Las Margaritas has developed a large clientele so that on a Friday night the place is jammed by 6:00 PM.

It looks like there are a lot of hard surfaces which would really bounce the noise around. They need some sound buffers. too bad the food isn't special because the atmosphere looks great!

A very colourful looking place.

That is a very colourful building. Mexican restaurants seem to always be crowded. I always like our homemade nachos or burritos better than any Mexican restaurant, never disappointed :)

Love the bright colors. Our local Mexican restaurant has similar furniture which I think came from Mexico. There is a restaurant by the same name in San Antonio that has terrific food. Wonder if there is any connection. Probably not.

Those chairs look amazing. Too bad you can't say that about the food. But it sounds like it's successful. (Don't plan on a second career as a Mexican restaurant critic, Jacob! ;-> )

Such a colorful place. It looks like a place I would enjoy but only if you said the food was great....and you didn't. That's too bad.

I love all those beautiful colors! We are getting a lot of rain up here from the tropical storm. How about you?

I like Mexican well I guess it is American/Mexican food but good if not too too HOT> and it seems all the places are noisy---part of the ambience I imagine.
I like all the color too.

I remember the post about this restaurant. The appearance is so appealing. If I were there in person, I’d be a little restless and stare about before eating but the restaurant surely would bring me into Mexican mood.

I LOVE the fact that Mexicans are unafraid of colour!!
