Fireworks for Sale
The week before the 4th of July, fireworks tents sprout up in and around the city like unwanted weeds. Then a few days after the 4th, they rapidly disappear. It's illegal to buy certain fireworks in Florida unless you use them for agricultural purposes. To get around the law, people who wish to buy these fireworks go into a fireworks for sale tent, sign a paper saying they'll use them for agricultural purposes, buy a bunch of fireworks and then blow them up on residential streets. I'll bet a lot of these folks are members of the "Law and Order" bunch. I'll bet they also break the law by driving over the speed limit.

Appears that they do a brisk business. Parents who condone this purchase and use of these are begging for trouble. Doesn't make much sense to me when there are so many monitored firework displays. Makes me angry that some people think it's okay to flaunt the laws.
I remember tents popping up in Alaska. You could buy them but not fire them off. They were used for New Year celebrations. In the summer, you had 24 hrs daylight and why waste them. One year they were cancelled because it was -30 degrees which was considered too cold.
Never heard about use for agricultural purposes :-) What means that? Here we have had a real fireworks disaster. So be careful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enschede_fireworks_disaster
They sell them in shops here around Victoria Day and Canada Day.
Feel free to use the Trump one from my writer's blog!
Fireworks leave everybody on edge!
Congratulations on publication of your book of poems!!
(Shaking head) Really?? I think I need to go cuddle Tom the cat.
I echo Kate's comment.
It was really bad here on the 4th. We had a nice time at a small barbecue, but getting home was very difficult and our dog was traumatized. The 4th used to be fun, but now I think of it as a night to stay home.
Boom!!!
You haven't lived until you've been in Berlin on New Year's Eve with the fireworks. That's the only time they're allowed to sell them here. It's like living in a war zone.
Uma sessão muito bem preparada.
Um abraço e bom fim de semana.

I bet you are right! The same type of thing happens here. I saw a tent up last weekend and I couldn't help but think of how dangerous it is here where everything is so dry.
It happens here for Canada Day too! Crazy!
Absolutely illegal here in Oz Lowell, too many accidents in the past!
