Marion County has a great library system. The main library is a large, attractive building on the east side of Ocala. We posted a photo of that building previously which you can see here.
The Freedom Library is a branch of the the Marion County system and is located in southwest Ocala, about a 1/2 mile from our house. Many of the residents in this part of Ocala are older and they make good use of these facilities.
All this interest in libraries is due to the fact that the theme for City Daily Photo bloggers for the first day of September is "library." You can check other fine libraries around the world by clicking here.

It is nice and bright! Hope you don't get too much bad weather in your area from the hurricane.
It seems quite light and airy inside.
This looks like a very nice library with a good selection of books. I love the sign out front.
Super! I love also libraries (worldwide.
Nice looking library. Looks like they are well stocked in books. Is anyone helping that bear that's sitting on the side in the chair? Probably waiting for the librarian to bring him Goldilocks & The Three Bears book :)
Have a wonderful Friday!
I like to visit the library, Lowell. I go for books and when you do not have the one I want, I ask another. I like reading. Today it is more comfortable with electronic book reading 😉
Un abrazo.
Indeed, this is a 'fine' library.
Yes, I'm back. I've been taking pictures (mostly with my phone) over the last 2 months but have had little time to do much more than that. I have a plan to 'ease' my way back. Fingers crossed :).
Looks to be a fine, orderly library. I love Libraries and use them often.
Nice looking library. Very airy and open. I love books.
The type of building ( you mentioned our library) is very typical of many 1960s tract homes out here.
Are you impacted much by rain and high winds because of Hermine?

I love bookshops and libraries.
According to my husband, we have too many books:)
Well, I have started to use zinio for magazines and also a few books as e-books. I still like real newspapers at the weekends.....
HAPPY WEEKEND to you and yours.
With E-readers I sometimes forget how pleasurable it is to wander through the library.
I hope you'll come link up your photos at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/08/purple-passion.html. Our weekly linkup remains open all week long!
i love the library...i haven't been in a while and actually i need a new card!
Wow! That's a giant library. And looks very welcoming too!
Beautiful series of this library, Lowell !
Thaks to showing us the outside AND the inside.
This one looks nice and cozy.
Isn't it wonderful that in these digital days, most towns and cities still have at least one library.
This library looks cozy. You are so fortunate to have such a nice public library system. I’m, too. My favorite library in Nara stands by the river lined with cherry trees. Some public libraries work as shelters for the people without air conditioners at home when it is so hot.
