The Veranda Gallery & Tea Room

Fort King Street begins in the old downtown and goes in a straight line east four miles to Baseline Road where it ends, close to Silver River Park, Silver Springs Park, and the Ocala National Forest.

The renovated home housing Briggs Law Firm we posted yesterday is located on Fort King Street.

As you leave downtown, you enter the Historic Area as noted on the sign. The first building on the right is another renovated home, known now as the Veranda Gallery and Tea Room. The women in my life love to visit this place and its six rooms of art and gifts. The Veranda Gallery also serves lunch and when its not too hot or too cold you can eat on the - tada! - veranda!

I'd love to visit the Tea Veranda House. I'm wondering what kind of tea they have. :)

Hi Buddhess - all kinds of tea, I think...

It is a fun place to walk around. There's lots of "stuff" to see and buy.

This looks like my "cup of tea"! Sorry Jacob I couldn't help myself, I had to say it! Really this does look like a great place to eat lunch and spend a lazy afternoon. I love the old house!

Love the big old house. I would enjoy a visit too. It's much larger than the one I posted today.

I too would love to have tea on the verandah! We don't have verandah's in Bath.. more is the pity!

I'm quite ashamed to confess that I do not like tea, but I'll be ready to sip a cup or two to stay on the veranda of the Veranda Gallery!

Vogon Poet, you need not be ashamed. We won't tea-se you about it!

Bath - why no verandahs in Bath? Too cold? I think verandah is just a fancy name for wrap-around porch.

Hi Lois Anne & Jacob, greetings from So Cal.
These historic homes (today's and yesterday's) are really amazing. So nice to see them so well preserved.

Being surrounded by people who love the place, I bet you get quite a few chances to be there as well... ;)

A lovley place to have tea. Do they have lovely little cakes to go with it.

These old homes are quite appealing with all the craftsmanship that is typically lost today. Homes are slapped up in a short order. Even the sign has charm.

Mo - I don't know from the cakes. I usually wait outside on the veranda while the ladies are shopping...heh, heh!

That house would fit in really well in Telluride!
