The horse with no eyes...

...one of the 55 plus "Horse Fever" horses that grace the City of Ocala and its environs...for some reason this one appears to be missing its eyes...

Maybe this is Orphan Annie's trustee steed.

Then people just have to touch him so he knows how much he's appreciated. I love the gleam of his coat.

Lovely painted pony. Yes, the eyes are minimal, but the artist doesn't seem overly committed to realism. :)

Lovely horse. I hope his eyes gets replace if indeed it is missing. It needs to be shiny too. MB

Your wit, my friend, is about as dim as a supernova.

Maybe the artist did not add the eyes so that the horse would not see the nearby sign and be tempted to join the dance festival. Stepping on his dance partner's toes could hurt.

I really like this one, it looks kind of like a war appaloosa. Probably lost its eye in battle.

What a horse!

re teachers: My kids had the most wonderful teachers in elementary school...I could never say enough good about them. They were not friends before my kids went there, but I sure considered them such afterwards....and I loved their principal. He took an interest in kids and tried to encourage good behavior.

I volunteered to help run the library one day a week, so I feel like I really knew the teachers. I liked the ones my kids didn't have, too.

All my teachers were old...just waiting on retirement. Yet, my brother and I were talking, they must have done something right because we did just as well in high school as the kids from the newer public schools.

It is very colorful over the rest of it. Maybe the artist ran out of paint. Lovely though.

Nine years ago, I was working on a temporary assignment in Chicago and the city did this same type of art event with cows. I really enjoyed seeing how the different artists decorated thier cows and it was so much fun to find them throughout the city.

Have to laugh at Brattcat's comment!

I've always wanted to participate in one of these paint-an-animal fundraisers.

I saw painted cows in Istanbul, Turkey and painted sheep in Woodstock, Vt. I am always intriqued by how the different artists interpret their vision.

Thank you for your kind comments on my drum-maker post. Wishing you a nice weekend too.

Rochester, New York has horses similar to this all around the city...or they used to. In spite of it's missing paint, the horse appears to be keeping it's eye on you!
