Tijuana Flats - Managed by Justin

Tijuana Flats is a Tex-Mex chain, begun in 1995 by a young man, Brian Wheeler, while he was a student at the University of Central Florida. He opened his first restaurant in Winter Park, Florida. Since then, the chain has taken off, and now counts something like 60 restaurants in several states (most are in Florida, however.) It is noted for its hot sauces (700 of them!) and colorful decor.

Justin, the manager of Ocala's Tijuana Flats, is an upbeat young man who greeted us enthusiastically, assisted in our menu selection and continued to ensure that the food was prepared to our satisfaction.

We'll be back!

Sounds like fun! Are the hot sauces good? Are there varieties of hotness? Nice photos.

And he was a good sport about the photo, too. What more could you want?

Obviously he is great entrepeneur. Outside ares for eating is so treasured in the Midwest after a cold winter. This place looks very inviting, and I cannot wait to begin dining outside...as soon as the weather warms up!

And I thought if you tasted one hot sauce you'd tasted them all...silly me.

700 hot sauces?? Goodness. How can you even taste the difference?

I'm not one for hot sauces, but I'll have a quesadilla if it's on the menu. :)

What can one do with 700 sauces? I will probably remember just two or three! Nice guy, fine place, a bit oversauced!

Very impressed with the hot sauce collection. 700 is quite a number.
