Scenes from around town

I liked the way the light hit the sign as evening descended on the area.

The Party Shop - everything you could possibly need for any kind of party. When I took this picture, one of the employees came out to ask what I was doing. I told him I was taking a photograph. He said, "Oh," and went back inside.

Just a colorful sign with a little posterization.

Sun Trust bank in downtown Ocala.

Quite a diary of a wonderful journey.

The composition is well done.

I like how you lead with the Barnes & Noble sign. That's my favourite store when we visit relatives in Upstate New York!

Interesting series of signs.

I always get a kick out of people who come up to me and ask what I'm doing. The snarky side of me wants to say 'duh'. But the nice side of me says "a photo...check out those interesting details" or whatever. I often end up talking for a long time. I guess I am an uncommon site.

Golf today? You should be so lucky... with or without the drizzle.

Drop me off at B&N and come and get me in 2 hours. That should do the trick.

Love brattcat's comment. Amazing how much suburbia looks the same, regardless of city!

Hey, we have all these stores out here too---well except for Sun Trust Bank. Notice it has the most imposing building. typical!!
I love any book store and Barnes and Noble in the U Village is a favorite. MB

Except for Sun Trust, lots of familiar signs here. I like your posterization work. I've been doing a lot of that and other effects lately myself and even sold several.

Thanks for the reminder, I need to travel down to Albuquerque to the B&N store. I loved the ones in Phoenix, the one near where I used to live was huge.

These buildings look the same here, except no palm trees. Funny about the person wanting to know what you were doing. Wonder what he thought you were doing.

When I go to B&N, I never know where to start, so I head for the fancy coffee and lattes!

When I took this picture, one of the employees came out to ask what I was doing. I told him I was taking a photograph.

Good answer!

People are suspicious of everything these days... Yours is the second "report" that I read on blogs which tells of someone being intimidated because of unpretentions photographing...
By the way, I notice that Jacob now shows his friendly face on the profile photo, it's so nice!
God bless you!

Nice shots Jacob! They all look like they could have been taken here. It's funny, I have never had anyone ask me what I was doing when I'm trying to get a blog shot. I do get a lot of strange looks though!
