I always thought a nook was a place where you could hide away or a part of a kitchen tucked in a corner where one would sit to eat. Now I find a nook is a book. Well, sort of. More like an electronic book reader. I suppose you could take your Nook which is a book into a nook in a kitchen and sit and read your Nook in the nook.

Interesting. Reading on paper is easier if one knows exactly what they want.
I can't believe how popular these are. I prefer books but to each his own.
I'm 100% with Olivier. I've tried a colleague's Kindle, didn't like it. Gimme paper (preferably recycled).

I'm getting older.Difficult to imagine myself reading a book in one of these digital stuffs. I love to touch the paper while I'm reading a book, to pause...to take off my glasses and think about the story, and so on...

I am a lover of paper books, expect I always will be. Yet with all the traveling I do, I am warming up more towards the idea if getting a reader... am not quite there yet, though. (Hey, I don't know what's going on, but this is the first comment on a blog I've been able to post from China in five weeks! Did you blow a hole through the Firewall for me, Lowell? LOL!)
In my younger days I preferred nookie over a nook in a nook. However, nookie in a nook was alright. As long as you didn't get caught with it in school. Otherwise, you might end up in the principal's nook. And that was not a happy place to be.
Great photo- am sure these e- readers will relace paper books in time. Too expensive, yet more environment damaging plastic, and not versatile enough for me at the moment. But I concede they are great to have 5000 books in one small nook!

I have friends who are big Nook fans. As long as it's more than just an electronic reader (with wifi capability etc.), then it's worth it -- especially when travelling.

Everytime I see this electronic book reader, I snicker to myself. Am I the only one who knows the vulgar, slang definition? I not only prefer paper books, but if I were to buy one, it certainly would not be one with this name!! Perhaps JM knows?!
