Tie-dyed patriotism

On this 4th of July, I've already seen many improper uses of the American flag. This is just one of them.

Have a happy 4th; stay safe; don't play with firecrackers! :-)

Don't need to..since I'm a firecracker myself. Have a jolly fourth, Lowell.

I remember during the Viet Nam war how indignant people got when men started wearing American Flag bandanas in protest, it was a "desecration of the Flag" - how far we have come from that .

Have a wonderful 4th Lowell - enjoy the "public" fireworks.

Our flag is so nice, I can see why it gets used "improperly".
Hope you and your family have a wonderful day!

These days the flag is so ubiquitous -- clothes, etc. -- that I don't know if there is a proper or improper use any more.

Yes, use this flag is really inappropriate. This may be a symbol of state abuse. Peter.

I didn't have a lot of respect for the flag when I was younger, I admit. Vietnam didn't cultivate a lot of pride. I've changed as I've aged, despite my patriotic cynicism.

Have a great 4th Lowell.

Great title! :-)

Hopefully this is not a real flag, but just a flag-inspired fabric. I hate to see the flag used improperly also, but I love that people want to wrap themselves in knock-off items.

Car dealerships are another one for me, some go beyond good taste when showing our flag. Maybe one or two flags but not what seems like hundreds at some of these auto dealers. Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon,pa

Hmmm. Some people think being disrespectful is much cooler than being respectful. They too will grow older and wiser, and be amazed at how the disrespectful the younger generation is, I suspect.
