I remember during the Viet Nam war how indignant people got when men started wearing American Flag bandanas in protest, it was a "desecration of the Flag" - how far we have come from that .
Have a wonderful 4th Lowell - enjoy the "public" fireworks.
This is MB crying in the wilderness! I cannot access my dashboard at blogger anymore. Apparently I need to sign in also and when I try it goes to a different sight that I don't belong to so can't sign in. HELP!! It goes to wildblue.net.
Me again MB----finally after two days of trying trying trying I got a message that my old blogger wants me to update to Google Chrome to be able to view my blog dashboard. So I did but now I even more nothing. Also no virus so I am at the mercy of blogger. Thanks for your thought. MB
I didn't have a lot of respect for the flag when I was younger, I admit. Vietnam didn't cultivate a lot of pride. I've changed as I've aged, despite my patriotic cynicism.
Hopefully this is not a real flag, but just a flag-inspired fabric. I hate to see the flag used improperly also, but I love that people want to wrap themselves in knock-off items.
Car dealerships are another one for me, some go beyond good taste when showing our flag. Maybe one or two flags but not what seems like hundreds at some of these auto dealers. Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon,pa
Hmmm. Some people think being disrespectful is much cooler than being respectful. They too will grow older and wiser, and be amazed at how the disrespectful the younger generation is, I suspect.

Agreed. Have a wonderful Independence Day!
I agree, however I still say "Happy birthday, America!"
je te souhaite un joyeux 4 Juillet
Our flag is so nice, I can see why it gets used "improperly".
Hope you and your family have a wonderful day!

Interesting shot for today, happy 4th of July, Lowell!
Bon 4 juillet !
These days the flag is so ubiquitous -- clothes, etc. -- that I don't know if there is a proper or improper use any more.
Yes, use this flag is really inappropriate. This may be a symbol of state abuse. Peter.
