Dog days of summer and family picnic

These photos were taken a month or two ago. Unfortunately, the dog days of summer means that ponds like this [1st photo] often get covered over with green slime and the water is not very attractive.

But it's a beautiful time of year in central Florida. The second photo shows a family taking advantage of the nice weather by having a picnic at Sholom Park. Notice that the mother was taking pictures with a DSLR.

I just love the simplicity of these two photos. It lifts my heart to know that families still take time out to enjoy picnics together. I love that and it encourages me that all is not lost with our fast paced world.

The family picnic is a nice way to make memories that last a lifetime and they will have some nice pictures to bring those memories back.

I thought it was always picnic weather in Florida.

I saw some people eating outside on the sunny side of the street today here and it is only 9˚C (48˚F). Of course no one was wearing shorts!
Thanks for the kind words on my post - I think I will print it up.

The green may be scummy, but you've made it look nice here. I'll join in.

Wow... I miss having picnics with my family. The first photo deceived me, I thought it was a golf course. Nice effects :)

Awwww, summer seems like such a distant memory already. The weather bug on my computer briefly forecast snow this evening.

I hope you and Lois are doing well.
