Is liquor the solution?

I'm afraid the folks who run this place didn't think through the name thoroughly enough.  Too many people have believed, to their detriment, that liquor was the solution to their problems.

I know that's not what the owners intended with the name, but still...

I agree, Lowell, that is a terrible name for a store! Here in Quebec the liquor stores are all governed by the government. Most of them are called "Societe des Alcools du Quebec".

Sorry, Lowell, I'm with the owner today. As an essentially-non-drinker, and having suffered with a bad flu all week, I think a trip into alcoholic oblivion could be just the thing. However, don't ask me tomorrow; I will be "indisposed."

Some people are just not that creative.

After a lifetime around various alcoholics I've had enough booze drama to cure me of any belief in a liquor solution. "Chocolate Solution" would get my vote in a hearbeat, however.

Haha, Sheryl! The name of the place next door gives me pause. Is that Mona Lisa??

Yup, not the solution. But if someone ones to drink, they will...

It depends on how much you drink. It's like anything else. Over do it and there's problems.

sometimes, i think, liquor is the solution. those living in blue zones drink at least a bit every day. moderation is the key, i guess.

A more apt name might be Liquor Problem! :)

PS: In Toronto we have the "Beer Store". Ontarians aren't very creative with naming their shops! ;)

Solution(s) is a much over used word thesedays. However, they clearly do offer a very wide range of alcholic beverages!

That name is a bit amusing. The only solution I can see is finding a decent bottle of wine for dinner.

I am with you on this one. I would call it more of the problem than the solution. But I know there are many who would disagree.

Not a great branding idea, in my humble opinion. Also, with so many signs cluttering the windows, it's a robbery waiting to happen. Other than that, it seems to be a terrific operation. :)

Might be more of a problem than a solution...hmmmmm. But clever I suppose. MB

Nice photo, but not the best solution!

You are so right, Lowell!

In Ontario liquor is bought at the Liquor Board Of Ontario stores - all government run and owned. And as Halcyon said, beer from the Beer Store which is owned by the large beer companies - quite a monopoly.

I wonder what they actually DID mean by the name.

I'll drink to that.
