Silver Springs aka Alligator Alley

I'm just kidding about "Alligator Alley," but you will see a number of gators sunning themselves as you glide quietly down the river in one of the glass bottom boats.

Yup, that's a gator all right.

About your comment about the local musicians, we go to performances occasionally.

Did you happen to catch the NPR story on croc and allegator sounds? Amazingly entertaining.
By the way, your post reminds me I need a new pair of shoes. hahahaha

I'm not sure I could get used to seeing those big lizards around. I'll just stick with our little ones.

Not my type of excitement. Maybe a glass bottom boat............

I think I'll keep my arms inside the boat.

Which is why I will never, ever glide in one of 'em boats...

I like seeing native wildlife but I can't say I'd be particularly comfortable sharing the river with critters that have teeth and jaws like that. That "smile" looks malevolent to me.

Fantastic shot, Lowell! I know I'm in the minority, but I have a great fondness for alligators and crocodiles. I'd love to see one sunning itself on a riverbank. From the safety of a boat, of course. I have no desire to get all Steve Irwin up close and personal with them. :-)
