Having one of these on probably saved my life years ago after a canoe accident on the St. Croix river. Didn't save my 35m camera though!

A good idea to wear one. You never know what might happen. I always feel safer when wearing one but have never had to test it out...yet.

It's a good thing it's illegal to not wear one here in Ontario. Too bad there has to be a law but some people NEED to be told what's sensible.
