Mimi's Cafe - It ain't what it used to be!
We have shown photos of Mimi's Cafe on several occasions in the past several years. Recently, some changes were made. It became more of "French" restaurant and the powers-that-be thought it wise to provide a number of new "French" menu items while at the same removing some of the old favorite menu items.
That did not work so well. Many people stopped dining at Mimi's. We stopped dining at Mimi's. From the looks of things, Mimi's has brought back some of the popular menu items, such as the delicious Cobb salad.
Still, it has not regained the status it had in former years. We stopped there the other day. No one greeted us. No one said hello. After a few minutes, we decided it wasn't worth the wait and left.

Change for the sake of change is never good. Good will earned over a period of time when lost is tough to regain.
I love the colours, but it is so sad when a restaurant changes things and it ends up being their downfall.
I used to love them when I lived in Phoenix.
An interesting and quite funny story... I guess you did the right choice leaving the place!
Aw poor Mimi's. Change isn't always good.

Change isn't always for the better, and unfortunately this appears to be a good example.
Looks like a nice and inviting place, but if the owners do not understand the simplest things... you did good to leave. Last Sunday I did the same in two occasions (probably I was invisible in that day...)
Do I take it you don't like French cuisine? :-)
My guess is that Mim's is not long for this competitive restaurant world. Bye, bye!
We have a Mimi's in Greensboro. AS I recall, it it pretty pricey. I don't go there often enough to know what the old-standards are/were. I do love a Cobb salad!

I have noticed that business owners don't seem to teach their employees the fine art of making the customer welcome. They need to understand that the customer is actually the one that pays their wages. Too bad, because that looks like an attractive place to eat.
With all those bright colours, the place looks inviting but I see that is not enough. Customers can't simply be ignored, I hate it when it happens... and I also leave!
I haven't been to a Mimi's in 15 years or so. Sounds like this one might be headed out of business.
When we were in San Antonio we often ate at Mimi's there. I liked the food with its New Orleans flavors. I'm sorry to hear they have gone down hill.
Sounds like the management has a problem on their hands, Lowell!
Management shouldn't tinker with what is working well Sounds like they were trying too hard, then gave up.
WEll that stinks. We used to go to a Mimi's in Tucson when we used to spend winters there -- we really loved it. I wonder if this is a chain or just a coincidence. We liked breakfast there. A lot.
Oh that's a shame Lowell.. It LOOKS so good!
I would not like it if a favorite restaurant of mine changed to this degree!
Sounds like Mimi made changes without consulting her customers!
That's a pity. :(
Poor customer service kills a business.
Too Bad I love the Turkey Salad on Raisin Bread.
Customer Service is not what it use to be.

I understand how you felt, Lowell. Hospitality is the first and foremost.
