Mi Tierra Latina

There have been several Mexican restaurants
in Ocala over the years.
The first one we tried when we
moved to town provided me with
three days of food poisoning.

We haven't been back there.

Others proved unsatisfactory in other ways.

Then we discovered Mi Tierra Latina
which is actually south of town
by several miles.

They do Mexican food in the manner
to which we have become
accustomed.

We have learned they intend
to open another restaurant in Ocala
just across from the mall.

Happy Days are here again!

I'm glad you found a good place! I cannot get used to Mexican in Berlin. Most of the places that purport to be "Mexican" here are really purveyors of hamburgers! Or if they have something remotely "Mexican" it is served with a side of french fries. :S

Your artistry with these images is terrific. You are so lucky to have found a nice Mexican restaurant near you that you like. I haven't found one here yet...still looking :).

Ole! Good food is worth the journey Lowell but if it comes closer, even better :)

I like Pepi’s for authentic Mexican food and his attached grocery store and bakery. Most customers seem to be Mexican low-income males, plus neighborhood white folks who know and like authentic Mexican food. They have been there for a very long time. Costs and service is excellent and enough English is spoken. This is not designed for tourists. Our Mexican-Texan friends love it and have tried many others and can afford the best. It’s north on 80th Street a few doors east of the corner gas station, going from On Top of the World.

How great that a restaurant you LIKE moves into your neighbourhood!

Ole! They are few and far between in this part of the state too. So easy to find on the West Coast (of the USA, not of Florida)... which I guess when you think of it makes sense. It's our go-to cuisine though up there -- when we want something a little different from home cooking but yet familiar! When we're here, it's been an adventure trying to find one. Maybe we need to visit Ocala.

Love the decor of this place. Unfortunately I have gotten spoiled on my last two trips to Texas visiting my sister and now the Mexican restaurants here just don't measure up!

Well rendered. We can find mostly acceptable Mexican food here but, so far, nothing really outstanding. And I'm still on a quest to find a good chile rellano.
