The golfing great, Arnold Palmer, has numerous golf courses around the world, many of which he designed and built. There are several Arnold Palmer golf courses in Florida.
These photos are of the Arnold Palmer Legends Country Club in the Lake Sumter Landing area of The Villages, Florida.
The Villages advertises that people who buy a home in The Villages can play golf "free" for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, there's a catch. That refers only to the numerous "Par 3" golf courses dotted around The Villages. And if you're lucky enough to get a tee time at one of these courses and drive your own golf cart, you will have to pay a "trail fee."
To play at Palmer's Legend course, or any other of the major layouts, such as the Nancy Lopez course, you must have a membership, which is an added cost. There are a number of hoops to jump through in order to get a tee time, also.
All of this is why a number of folks from The Villages come to Ocala or other cities in central Florida to get in their games of golf.

I remember the days of Arnie's Army" walking the course behind him. My Dad got to meet him when he came to Chicago to play a tournament. Know he was a major designer of courses.
Got a chuckle out of your comments on Rude's Reflection. Don't think the real story was as interesting as the one you provided, so I'll go with the one you found.
Beautiful photos, Lowell!
I can play badly at many other less expensive golf courses.
Gee, I drink lots of Arnold Palmers in the summertime. They aren't free, either. Think it's an Arnold Palmer conspiracy?
I enjoyed seeing these photos. My introduction to golf was watching Arnold and Jack on TV with my Grandmother in my youth. Happy memories.
Fotografias fantásticas uma maravilha.
Um abraço e boa semana.
I don't think I've ever played an Arnold Palmer course, but this one looks nice. "Executive" courses wouldn't cut it for me... but I also don't have to play the "fanciest" courses either.
I'm not a golfer at all, except Crazy Golf! I think golf would be a very expensive hobby. A lot cheaper to go for a walk in the country and then watch golf on the telly while drinking a cuppa tea when you get back.
Just like so many things, "free" doesn't really mean "Free".
I forgot to mention, I hope you didn't have any storm damage. Sounds like you had some strange weather.
I do not know a thing about golf, but the place is beautiful!
Très classe !
Love the wreath on the door!
Cool captures but a tough life for golfers!
It looks beautiful. Life is full of traps, Lowell. We have to beware of trickery.
Un abrazo.
I very much dislike deceptive advertising. Why is so hard to tell the truth? :)
So many catches to living in the Villages! Beautiful Florida landscaping.
“Free” is such a tempting word. After learning so many deceptive “free”, I came to suspect if there’d be something behind it when I hear “free”.
Expensive sportswear brand name, Arnold Palmer, was my first time to know the name. My husband doesn’t play golf but I sometimes bought a sport-shirt for my husband as casual wear from that brand but after retirement, mainly from Uniqlo.
