Coyote Cantina Southwest Bar & Grill

Coyote Cantina is a new sports bar in downtown Ocala, just 1/2 block off the square. It features Mexican and American food. Some folks seem to like it, others not so much. I've read they charge more for beer purchased outside in the patio area than they do for beer ordered inside.

We took this photo just a week or two after Christmas and that's why the decorations are still up.

Too bad it is a bit iffy. We are always looking for good Mexican restaurants. They are so common on the West Coast ( of the USA, not of Florida)... And while we like to try new cuisines, sometimes we just want our comfort food. Which really shows you it's more about environment than heritage, as we couldn't possibly be any further from Hispanic.

Charging more for a beverage outside than inside? Really??? Sounds like a great way to lose business. And, good thing you clarified about when you shot the photo, otherwise I would've really wondered about the owners still having their Christmas decorations up. : )

What's next? Inside zones? Farthest from the kitchen pays more, too? Not a recipe for goodwill.

How odd about the beer prices? In Berlin, beer is often cheaper than bottled water at restaurants, and they don't bring you a glass of tap water for free!
Do you like this place? Have you tried it?

That sounds a little like Paris Lowell, coffee is more expensive outside where you can people watch :) Love Mexican food, have you tried it yet?

Well, I don't drink, and sports bars in general don't appeal to me at all.

Doesn't seem right to charge more when there's less "over head". lol
